Why is one who writes plays not referred to as a playwrite rather than the seemingly misspelled playwright?
And what's with that bizarre phraseology anyway? Was John Lennon a songwright? I don't believe John Grisham is a bookwright. And yet, Ben, Little Joe and Hoss are all Cartwrights.
Can't they all just be authors? Or writers?
Just a thought.

You might be wright.
This reminds me of the sudden change in taking sex out of our naming convention for actors. Now, those of you with minds addled from liquor may believe I was actually referencing something else, but I was actually referring to the way we no longer use the term "actress." Ever notice how both females and males in the acting profession are now called "actors." Since when did actresses become passe anyway? What is wrong with a leading lady getting a little sex anyway?
Astute observation. This is why the world is a better place with a blogtress such as yourself.
That remark puts me in some distress. You must be a righteous wright-tress.
You seem like you're under a lot of stress. You should take a rest; in fact, I can't stress that enough. But don't feel like you're under duress.
I must confess that your comments are growing much less onerous, but you are still very much a pest.
